Kemetic Yoga is the ancient Egyptian system of enlightenment that combines Yogic postures that are clearly pictured on the walls of the Kemetic temples with controlled deep breathing and meditation. The breath is the life force, and we use the breath to “flow” through the movements from one posture to the next. This system is slower and more methodical than the traditional methods of Yoga. By slowing down the movements, we put more emphasis on developing the Yoga skills of patience and concentration. Kemetic Yoga corrects defects in the skeletal muscular system, relieves stress, increases the circulation of blood nutrients and oxygen to vital body systems, and allows the internal life force energy and cerebral spinal fluid to flow more efficiently and abundantly throughout the entire body. This practice combats stress anxiety and depression by turning off your body’s stress response and activating your natural relaxation response, which encourages the growth of new brain cells and improves your ability to think clearly and remain calm.
